Partner Terms
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms apply to the Rightly Rated partner programme. They are a contract between you (the partner) and ABT Ventures LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12437106, registered office 19 Colne Road, Trawden, Colne, BB8 8NX, VAT number GB448666546, trading as Rightly Rated ("we", "us"). Contact: support@rightlyrated.uk.
By ticking the box on our partner sign-up page and confirming your email address, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the firm you named.
1. What the programme is
Accountants, bookkeepers, business advisers, chambers of commerce, business improvement districts (BIDs) and similar organisations can introduce their clients and members to Rightly Rated. When a client buys from us using your partner link or code, we pay you a commission.
2. Your code and link
- When you confirm your email, we give you a partner code and a link (https://rightlyrated.uk/?ref=YOURCODE).
- Your code and link are for you and your firm. Don't publish them on coupon, voucher or cashback sites, and don't bid on "Rightly Rated" or similar terms in paid search.
- Your code is not a discount code. Your clients pay the same price whether or not they use it. Don't describe it as a discount.
3. When a sale counts
A sale is credited to you ("a referred sale") when both of these are true:
- your code or link was used at the time of purchase: the client followed your link and bought in the same visit (the code is carried in the web address, because we don't use tracking cookies), or the client typed your code into the "Partner code" box at checkout; and
- the payment went through.
If a client uses more than one partner's code, the code on the order at payment wins. A Challenge pack bought later on the same case keeps the partner code that was on the case. We can't credit a sale after it has been paid if your code wasn't used.
4. Commission
- You earn 20% of the price of each referred sale, excluding VAT. For example, on a £99 pack (£82.50 excluding VAT) you earn £16.50, and on a £29 pack (£24.17 excluding VAT) you earn £4.83.
- Commission is worked out on the amount the client actually paid. If a credit reduced the price (for example, a £29 Check-stage pack credited against a Challenge pack), commission is on the reduced amount.
- No commission is due on refunded orders. If an order is refunded in full, the commission is cancelled. If it is refunded in part, the commission is reduced in proportion. If we have already paid you commission on an order that is later refunded, we deduct it from your next payments.
- The commission figures include any VAT you may need to charge. If you are VAT-registered, tell us when we ask for your payment details and we'll agree how to invoice.
5. Payment
- We pay monthly, by bank transfer, by the 15th of each month for the previous month, when the balance we owe you is more than £0.
- Before your first payment we'll email you to ask for your bank details. We don't collect or store bank details on our website.
- Each payment comes with a statement showing your referred sales, commission, any refunds deducted, and the balance.
- If you think a statement is wrong, tell us within 3 months of receiving it.
6. How you promote us
You must:
- Tell the truth. Follow the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising (the CAP Code) enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority. Don't promise or imply that a client will save money or that their rateable value will go down. Don't make claims we haven't made ourselves. The wording we give you is fine to use.
- Not suggest we are official. Rightly Rated is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Valuation Office Agency, HMRC, the Welsh Government or any council. Don't suggest otherwise.
- Follow the email and marketing rules. Only send electronic marketing where the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK data protection law allow it (for example, to your own clients who haven't opted out, or with consent). No spam, no bought lists, and no messages that hide who they're from.
- Make it clear you may be paid. If you recommend us to someone, be open that you may receive a commission where the law or your professional body's rules require it.
- Follow your own professional rules, including those of your professional body.
7. What you must not do
- No self-referrals. You can't earn commission on purchases made by you, your firm, or for property you or your firm occupy or own. We don't credit an order placed with your partner email address.
- You are not our agent. You can't make promises, accept orders, give guarantees or sign anything on our behalf.
- No valuation advice on our behalf. Don't give valuation, rating or legal advice in our name, and don't present our free check or packs as your own professional advice. If your client needs advice, they should take it from a RICS-regulated rating surveyor or another suitable professional.
- Don't use our name or logo except to refer to us accurately, and don't register domain names or social media accounts that include "Rightly Rated".
8. Your information
We use your name, firm, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your referral records to run the programme and to pay you. Our Privacy Policy explains how. We never share your clients' personal details with you: sale notifications only say that a client bought a pack, for how much, and when.
9. Ending the arrangement
- You can leave at any time by emailing us.
- We can end the arrangement, or change these terms, by giving you 30 days' notice by email. We can end it straight away if you break these terms in a serious way (for example, spam, misleading claims, or self-referrals).
- When it ends, your code stops working. We'll pay any commission already earned on sales made before the end date (minus refunds), unless we ended it because you broke section 6 or 7, in which case we won't pay commission on the sales affected.
10. General
- Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the commission due to you in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
- You and we are independent businesses. These terms don't create a partnership, joint venture, employment or agency.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
